Head of Finance

About the role

Robert Half is partnering with a fast‑growing private investment firm to hire its first dedicated finance leader in the UK. Based in London, the Head of Finance will shape and build the finance function from the ground up, working closely with senior leadership to support the firm’s rapid expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee outsourced bookkeeping for multiple entities, ensuring accurate and complete financial records.
• Manage payroll processes and related reporting.
• Execute payment runs, treasury activities and maintain banking relationships.
• Review and challenge financial information provided by external service providers.
• Own and enhance a data and reporting platform that consolidates information across investment structures and entities.
• Develop and improve management reporting, analysis and business intelligence capabilities.
• Act as a trusted business partner, contributing commercially beyond traditional finance duties.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in alternative investments, asset management, private equity or similar investment environments.
• Understanding of fund structures and investment vehicles; knowledge of cap tables is a plus.
• Experience working in lean, entrepreneurial businesses.

• Competitive salary between £100,000 and £140,000 per year.
