Head of FP&A

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, commercially‑minded Head of FP&A to lead financial planning, forecasting, management reporting and business partnering across a large, complex organisation. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will shape financial strategy, support senior decision‑making and drive continuous improvement in performance management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver annual budgets, forecasts, medium‑term plans and long‑term financial strategies.
• Provide strategic financial analysis, modelling and business insight for major investment decisions.
• Oversee management reporting and performance monitoring to ensure timely, accurate information.
• Lead the Finance Business Partnering function, offering challenge, support and guidance to senior stakeholders.
• Maintain advanced financial models, scenario‑planning tools, investment appraisals and sustainability assessments.
• Present financial analysis, business cases and recommendations to executive leadership and governance committees.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning, forecasting, reporting and decision‑support processes.
• Build strong relationships across the organisation and act as a trusted adviser on strategic and commercial matters.
• Lead, develop and motivate a high‑performing finance team, fostering accountability and continuous learning.
• Support the CFO as required, acting as deputy when appropriate.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post‑qualification experience.
• Proven track record leading FP&A, forecasting, management reporting or business partnering in a complex organisation.
• Strong strategic thinker with experience advising senior executives, boards or governance bodies.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, business analysis, investment appraisal and performance management.
• Exceptional leadership skills, capable of developing teams and leading change.
• Excellent communication ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
