Head of HR / HR Lead – Financial Services (Hybrid)

About the role

The Head of HR will take full operational ownership of the HR function for the first two years, delivering a commercially focused service to the business while building a high‑performing team. This hybrid role sits within a fast‑paced financial services environment and offers a clear progression path to a future Group Head of HR position as the organisation expands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of HR professionals, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
• Own the end‑to‑end generalist HR remit – recruitment, performance management, policy, legislation and day‑to‑day employee support.
• Partner with senior leaders, contributing to strategic discussions and aligning HR initiatives with business objectives.
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
• Strengthen leadership capability through coaching, targeted development and training programmes.
• Design and deliver learning sessions that foster a culture of continuous development.
• Lead organisational change projects, including restructures and consultation processes.
• Drive HR projects that improve efficiency, process quality and employee experience.

Required profile

• Proven senior HR leadership experience, preferably within financial services or a similarly regulated sector.
• Commercially minded with the ability to balance operational delivery and strategic foresight.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence senior executives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high‑performing HR teams.
• Experience handling complex employee relations and change management initiatives.
