Head of Nutrition and Dietetics

About the role

Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a highly capable Dietitian to lead Nutrition and Dietetics services across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. This senior leadership position will shape accessible, inclusive and outcome‑focused services for rural and coastal communities while supporting a skilled workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic, professional and operational leadership for Nutrition and Dietetics services.
• Lead service development, transformation and continuous improvement to ensure safe, effective, high‑quality care.
• Oversee clinical governance, quality and risk management.
• Plan and manage workforce to build a resilient and sustainable service.
• Manage financial and resource allocation in line with organisational priorities.
• Collaborate with health, social care and partner organisations to deliver integrated services.
• Develop and implement policies, standards and best practice across the Health Board.

Required profile

• Qualified Dietitian with a strong commitment to person‑centred care.
• Demonstrated experience in senior leadership or management within a health service.
• Ability to lead inclusive, outcome‑focused services aligned with local needs and national priorities.
• Proven track record of workforce development and staff engagement.
• Accountability for professional standards and service quality.
