Head of Operations

About the role

The Head of Operations will lead the day‑to‑day running of AFC Wimbledon’s stadium and training‑ground facilities. This senior position is responsible for delivering safe, efficient and memorable matchdays and events across a busy calendar.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all stadium and training‑ground operations, ensuring smooth delivery of approximately 40 major matchdays per year.
• Lead an in‑house team covering maintenance, security, health & safety, reception and IT.
• Manage relationships with outsourced partners, including grounds maintenance, catering, security and stadium presentation services.
• Develop and implement operational policies, health & safety procedures and security protocols.
• Coordinate with the upcoming Operations Manager to share matchday workload and ensure continuity.
• Monitor performance of services, control budgets and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior operations management within large venues or sports facilities.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage both internal staff and external suppliers.
• Excellent knowledge of health & safety, security and facilities management standards.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute high‑profile events safely and efficiently.
