Head of Programme and Asset Grading

About the role

The Head of Programme & Asset Grading will lead the team responsible for analysing, reporting and driving insight across SNG’s Strategic Asset Management (SAM) programme. This senior position influences the long‑term direction of the housing portfolio and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver strategic outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead reporting and analysis of the SAM strategy and programme.
• Develop and manage the asset grading model to support investment and disposal decisions.
• Produce forecasts and cash‑flow projections based on disposals and portfolio performance.
• Assess programme effectiveness, including stock condition improvements, liability reduction and replacement outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Head of Disposals to execute disposal programmes across multiple asset types.
• Support finance teams with business planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
• Deliver high‑quality visualisations and reports for senior leaders, boards and committees.
• Oversee programme governance, managing risks, dependencies and opportunities.
• Maintain and enhance systems, models and datasets for accurate information.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners such as consultants, valuers and agents.

Required profile

• MRICS qualified (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).
• Significant experience in property transactions and asset management.
• Strong understanding of commercial property and portfolio performance.
• Proven ability to produce strategic analysis, reporting and business insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience leading teams and delivering complex programmes.
• Strong analytical capability with a focus on turning data into business intelligence.
• Knowledge of risk management, portfolio decision‑making and budget management.
• Familiarity with development funding models.
