HSE & Technical Services Consultant

About the role

The HSE & Technical Services Consultant works within the Risk & Assurance team, splitting time between HSE and Technical Services. Based in Glasgow, the role supports a national portfolio of sites, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct compliance assessments nationally against ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and relevant British standards for fire, health & safety and environmental risks.
• Support the Technical Services team with technical audits, site‑based support and security assessments.
• Manage incident investigation, reporting and corrective‑action processes, embedding lessons learned across all sites.
• Review technical documentation for fit‑out, project or redevelopment work and provide guidance to MEP and VT supply partners.
• Ensure MEP compliance audits are completed in line with ACOPs, ISO and British standards.
• Maintain awareness of changes to HSE legislation, standards and industry guidance, communicating impacts to the portfolio.
• Contribute to the development and continual improvement of MAPP policies, procedures and audit standards.

Required profile

• Engage with Facilities Management, Building Consultancy and Sustainability teams, fostering a collaborative approach.
• Assist in administering MAPP's MEP data in Risk Wise and other electronic management systems.
• Lead liaison with fit‑out, project and redevelopment instructions, providing technical support as needed.
• Provide out‑of‑hours support for maintenance and emergency activities.
• Manage a team aligned with MAPP values and support small building works projects.
