Head of Property Surveying

About the role

We are partnering with a leading property management organisation to recruit a Head of Property Surveying. In this senior position you will direct a team of Property Inspectors, oversee inspection programmes across a diverse residential portfolio and ensure the highest standards of compliance and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Property Inspectors, guaranteeing timely and high‑quality inspections.
• Plan and monitor inspection schedules, ensuring they meet agreed frequencies and service standards.
• Conduct detailed site inspections, produce comprehensive reports, and raise work orders for maintenance, repair and compliance issues.
• Manage contractor relationships, negotiate contracts, review RAMS and health‑and‑safety documentation, and monitor performance.
• Engage with residents, leaseholders and clients, providing professional advice and resolving complex property matters.
• Support major works projects, repossessions, lease inspections and tribunal notices, collaborating with finance, compliance and maintenance teams.
• Act as the primary point of contact for out‑of‑hours property issues.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in property management, including a leadership role.
• Proven ability to manage residential block portfolios and deliver high‑quality inspection services.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Experience negotiating and overseeing contractor performance.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of residential block management and relevant health‑and‑safety legislation.
• Expertise in compliance management and property inspection processes.
• Ability to interpret and act on maintenance contracts and service agreements.
