Head of Provision

About the role

We are partnering with a specialist alternative education provider to recruit a Head of Provision for their setting in Coleshill. This senior leadership role will oversee day‑to‑day operations, safeguard standards and drive high‑quality outcomes for learners who face barriers to mainstream education.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the operational and educational management of the provision, ensuring compliance with safeguarding, behaviour and attendance standards.
• Line‑manage teaching and support staff, fostering professional development and performance accountability.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and maintain robust safeguarding procedures.
• Support curriculum implementation, conduct learning walks, observations and quality assurance reviews.
• Develop and maintain relationships with schools, local authorities, families and other stakeholders.
• Lead restorative practices, reintegration support and targeted learner interventions.
• Oversee stakeholder reporting, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Level 5 teaching qualification.
• Proven leadership experience within an educational setting or strong leadership potential.
• Extensive knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practice.
• Experience managing staff performance and professional development.
• Excellent organisational, communication and conflict‑resolution abilities.
