Head of Quality and Curriculum - Apprenticeships

About the role

We are partnering with an Ofsted Grade 1 “Outstanding” training provider to recruit a Head of Quality and Curriculum for Apprenticeships. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape the quality and curriculum strategy across both apprenticeship and commercial programmes, ensuring compliance and excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of apprenticeship and commercial curricula, aligning them with employer and learner needs.
• Oversee the organisation’s quality assurance framework, including observations, moderation, standardisation and learner‑voice activities.
• Maintain inspection readiness and manage the Self‑Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) to drive measurable improvements.
• Champion inclusive practice and ensure all provision meets Ofsted, awarding body and funding requirements.
• Develop, coach and manage quality and curriculum teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer (e.g., D32/D33/A1/TAQA/CAVA, D34/V1/IQA).
• Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, CertEd, DET or DTLLS.
• Proven experience leading quality assurance and curriculum development in an apprenticeship or further‑education setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework, SARs, QIPs, Apprenticeship Standards and ESFA funding rules.
• Experience designing and improving work‑based learning curricula and leading teams.
• Ideally have acted as an Ofsted nominee or supported inspection preparation.
