Head of Quality & Curriculum – Apprenticeships

About the role
The Head of Quality and Curriculum will steer the strategic direction of apprenticeship and commercial learning provision for an Ofsted Grade 1 training provider. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure curriculum excellence, robust quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory bodies while fostering inclusive practice.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of apprenticeship and commercial curricula to meet employer and learner needs.
- Oversee the organisation’s quality assurance framework, including observations, moderation, standardisation and learner‑voice activities.
- Manage the Self‑Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), driving measurable improvements across provision.
- Maintain inspection readiness for Ofsted, awarding bodies and funding agencies.
- Coach, develop and inspire quality and curriculum teams to achieve high performance.
- Analyse data and stakeholder feedback to influence quality outcomes and strategic decisions.
Required profile
- Qualified Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer (e.g., D32/D33/A1/TAQA/CAVA, D34/V1/IQA).
- Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, CertEd, DET or DTLLS.
- Proven experience leading quality assurance, curriculum development and inclusion in an apprenticeship or further‑education setting.
- Strong working knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework, SARs, QIPs, Apprenticeship Standards and ESFA funding rules.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop teams.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and stakeholder‑management skills.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of Ofsted EIF, SARs, QIPs, Apprenticeship Standards and ESFA Funding Rules.
