Head of Supply Chain & Operations

About the role

The Head of Supply Chain & Operations will lead procurement and supply chain activities for a fast‑growing manufacturing SME on the Wirral, reporting directly to the COO and sitting on the senior management team. The role combines strategic planning with hands‑on operational delivery to support current performance and future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee procurement processes to achieve cost efficiency and maintain quality standards.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts and ensure effective performance.
• Lead, mentor and develop high‑performing teams across supply chain and operations.
• Monitor operational performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to optimise end‑to‑end supply chain processes.
• Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management within the industrial/manufacturing sector.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams.
• Strong track record in supplier negotiations and contract management.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Good knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
• Results‑driven mindset with a focus on operational efficiency.
