Health & Safety Consultant

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Health & Safety Consultant to join JNC Safety Services, part of the JMG Group, based in Cornwall. You will act as a trusted advisor to our clients, delivering practical health and safety solutions across construction, fire risk and related regulatory areas.

Key responsibilities

• Visit client sites to carry out health and safety inspections, quality‑check consultancy deliverables and recommend amendments.
• Assist clients with SSIP accreditations such as CHAS and SafeContractor.
• Prepare and support RIDDOR incident reports.
• Respond to client enquiries (phone or email) with accurate, legally compliant advice.
• Provide specialist guidance on fire safety, construction (CDM) and DSEAR regulations.
• Research and compile detailed health and safety guidance, standard phrases and check‑lists.
• Support the Technical Manager in drafting guidance notes and training material.

Required profile

• NEBOSH General or Fire Certificate (or equivalent) – minimum requirement.
• Membership of IOSH or IFE is desirable.
• Proven experience in risk assessment and delivering H&S consultancy or fire risk assessments.
• Experience delivering adult training and qualifications in teaching.
• Ability to work independently and liaise with consultants and clients.
