Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager

About the role

Loom Talent is partnering with a leading UK logistics provider to recruit an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager. You will own HSE and facilities management across four warehouse sites in Dagenham, driving a positive safety culture and ensuring operational compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and promote a strong Health & Safety culture across four warehouse locations.
• Conduct and manage Health & Safety audits, keeping documentation accurate and up‑to‑date.
• Coordinate customer, internal and BRC audits to ensure compliance with required standards.
• Chair monthly Health & Safety meetings and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and behavioural safety conversations.
• Complete risk assessments, including COSHH assessments, and implement effective control measures.
• Act as Fire Marshal and Racking Inspector, maintaining emergency procedures and training.
• Manage contractor permits, ensuring contractor compliance on site.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Maintain third‑party quality agreements and manage facilities‑related contractors across sites.

Required profile

• NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (essential).
• Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and regulatory compliance.
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
• Experience conducting Health & Safety, customer and quality audits.
• Proven ability in risk assessment, incident investigation and root‑cause analysis.
• Capability to identify non‑conformances and implement effective corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with confidence to influence at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
