Health Visitor – Children & Families

About the role

The Health Visitor will work within the Children and Families Health Visiting team, delivering needs‑led, evidence‑based care to children and young people in Glasgow. You will collaborate with health and partner organisations to support families and contribute to the Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, needs‑led health visiting care to a designated caseload of children and families.
• Work collaboratively with health professionals and partner agencies to support families.
• Contribute to GIRFEC initiatives and multi‑agency team meetings.
• Maintain accurate records, complete required documentation and ensure compliance with PVG and Disclosure Scotland checks.
• Participate in training, shadowing and continuous professional development opportunities.

Required profile

• Registered Health Visitor or Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Problem‑solving skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• PVG Scheme Membership / Disclosure Scotland clearance.
