HGV Class 1 Double Deck Night Trunk Driver – Southampton

About the role

This position is for a qualified HGV Class 1 driver to operate double‑deck vehicles on night trunk routes, based in Southampton. You will join a temporary pool with the potential to become permanent, delivering goods across the UK during evening and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 articulated double‑deck trucks for general haulage on night routes.
• Complete all required paperwork and electronic records accurately and on time.
• Maintain break and working‑hour logs in line with Working Time Directive regulations.
• Adhere to agency, client, and safety policies throughout each shift.
• Communicate with customers, clients and operations teams to ensure smooth deliveries and collections.
• Deliver assigned loads efficiently and within scheduled timeframes.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence with a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Minimum of one year experience driving double‑deck HGV1 vehicles.
• Possession of a DP World Card and a digital tachograph card.
• No more than six penalty points on the licence.
• Good knowledge of the UK motorway network and Working Time Directive regulations.
