HGV Class 1 Driver – Night Shifts in Peterborough

About the role

Join a reputable international haulage company as an HGV Class 1 Driver based at the Peterborough depot. You will be responsible for transporting loads securely between depots and key retail clients, primarily on night‑time routes.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out single and multi‑drop deliveries, typically up to two drops per shift.
• Collect returns and equipment from stores as required.
• Drive between Peterborough and destinations such as Birmingham, Manchester and the Midlands.
• Adhere to scheduled start times, usually between midnight and 6 am.
• Maintain accurate records using tachograph equipment.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence.
• CPC card and tachograph card.
• Minimum two years of commercial driving experience.
• Clean driving record (no more than six penalty points, no major endorsements).

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating heavy goods vehicles safely.
• Ability to follow route plans and delivery schedules.
• Basic understanding of tachograph usage.
