Hospitalist – Clinical Service Contract

About the role

Join East Kootenay Regional Hospital as a Hospitalist, delivering comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages across acute, chronic and complex conditions. You will work within a supportive, interdisciplinary team and have the option to integrate teaching and mentorship through collaboration with UBC’s Faculty of Medicine.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in an inpatient setting.
• Develop and implement individualized, patient‑centered treatment plans in partnership with nurses, specialists and allied health professionals.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, clinical rounds and multidisciplinary case discussions.
• Provide mentorship or teaching to medical trainees when desired.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and clinical guidelines.

Required profile

• Medical degree and eligibility for licensure to practice in British Columbia.
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Demonstrated experience in hospital medicine or acute care.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient‑focused care and teamwork.
