Housing Resolutions Officer

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housing Resolutions Officer to join a busy Housing Needs and Homelessness service within a Wembley‑based Local Authority. The role focuses on providing high‑quality housing advice and support to households living in temporary accommodation, helping them secure long‑term housing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored housing options advice to households residing in temporary accommodation.
• Promote and facilitate move‑on opportunities into settled accommodation, including Private Rented Sector, Social Housing and Intermediate Housing Schemes.
• Undertake suitability reviews and investigations for cases involving fear of violence.
• Issue temporary accommodation offer letters and suitability decisions in line with legislation.
• Conduct visits to households, offering guidance on housing options and managing expectations.
• Work with Housing Assessment and Lettings teams to monitor housing register activity and support informed choices.
• Signpost and refer clients to employment, training, adult social care, children’s services and supported housing providers.
• Assist households with welfare reform impacts, benefits advice and employment opportunities.
• Collaborate with accommodation providers to resolve tenancy issues, complaints and support needs.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory duties and service standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience working within Housing Options, Homelessness Prevention, Temporary Accommodation or Housing Needs services within a Local Authority.
• Strong understanding of homelessness legislation and housing law.
• Experience supporting homeless households and managing tenancy‑related issues.
