Housing Resolutions Officer – Temporary Full‑Time (Hybrid)

About the role

The Housing Resolutions Officer will join a busy Housing Needs and Homelessness service within a Wembley‑based Local Authority. Working on a hybrid basis, the officer will help households in temporary accommodation secure long‑term housing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored housing options advice to households residing in temporary accommodation.
• Promote and facilitate move‑on opportunities into settled accommodation, including Private Rented Sector, Social Housing and Intermediate Housing Schemes.
• Undertake suitability reviews and investigations for cases involving fear of violence.
• Issue temporary accommodation offer letters and suitability decisions in line with the Homelessness (Suitability of Accommodation) Order.
• Conduct visits to households, guide them on housing options and manage expectations.
• Collaborate with Housing Assessment and Lettings teams to monitor housing register activity.
• Signpost clients to employment, training, adult social care, children’s services and supported housing providers.
• Support households with welfare reform impacts, benefits advice and employment opportunities.
• Work with accommodation providers to resolve tenancy issues and contribute to tenancy audit programmes.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory duties.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Housing Options, Homelessness Prevention, Temporary Accommodation or Housing Needs services within a Local Authority.
• Strong understanding of homelessness legislation and housing law.
• Experience supporting homeless households and managing move‑on processes.
