HR Advisor – In‑store Retail Role

About the role

We are seeking a proactive HR Advisor to support our store management team in Newcastle. You will be the primary HR contact within the store, helping to build a motivated, engaged and high‑performing workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR advice and support to managers on employee relations, ensuring fair and policy‑compliant practices.
• Coordinate recruitment activities with the Recruitment Centre, including vacancy approvals, job adverts, CV screening, interviews and feedback.
• Deliver company training on HR processes and assist managers in developing team skills.
• Support performance management, ensuring regular one‑to‑one conversations and effective reviews.
• Promote employee engagement and wellbeing, working closely with the General Manager.
• Assist with payroll queries and coordinate changes with the Payroll team.
• Partner on succession planning, talent identification and career development.
• Manage employee experience activities such as inductions, onboarding training, benefits promotion and exit interviews.
• Monitor HR metrics (working hours, productivity, absence) and develop improvement action plans.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies and effective internal communication.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
