HR Business Partner – Employee Relations (6‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our client’s People team on an initial six‑month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension. The role focuses on employee relations, providing practical, commercially‑sound solutions while supporting managers across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied employee relations caseload from initiation to resolution.
• Lead disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and absence cases.
• Conduct investigations and produce clear, evidence‑based reports.
• Coach and advise managers on employment law, HR policy and best practice.
• Build trusted relationships across the organisation to drive positive people outcomes.

Required profile

• Significant hands‑on employee relations experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS guidance.
• Proven ability to manage grievances, disciplinaries and complex ER cases independently.
• Experience in both public and private sector environments.
• Confidence to influence managers and handle sensitive situations professionally.
