HSEQ Advisor

About the role
As an HSEQ Advisor you will join a central HSEQ team supporting a regional construction contract. Reporting to the HSEQ Lead, you will promote health, safety, environmental and quality compliance, raise and resolve issues, and ensure document control across the site and office.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain safety and compliance standards and address issues immediately.
- Carry out verification inspections and follow‑up on non‑conformances.
- Support accident and incident investigations, ensuring thorough reporting and closure.
- Report unsafe acts/conditions and positive interventions.
- Produce weekly and monthly achievement and issue reports.
- Drive corrective‑action closure with the Compliance Department and external auditors.
- Compile accident/incident statistics and attend client meetings.
- Foster strong relationships with operational teams and improve processes.
- Promote safe behaviours on‑site and in the office.
- Support training and competency requirements to achieve high standards of compliance.
- Assist with ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO14001 accreditations and related standards.
Required profile
- Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH Certificate or NEBOSH Construction (or equivalent).
- IOSH membership.
- Experience in underground (UG) operations and LV jointing.
- Background working within Distribution Network Operator (DNO) environments.
- Ability to conduct site‑based audits and inspections independently and collaboratively.
- Proven capability to lead incident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Hands‑on approach with regular engagement on site.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with site teams, contractors and clients.
- Familiarity with CDM regulations.
