Human Resources Advisor – NHS Dumfries & Galloway

About the role

We are seeking two Human Resources Advisors to join NHS Dumfries and Galloway. One position is permanent and the other is fixed‑term until 31 December 2026, both at Band 5 level and 36 hours per week. The role offers hybrid and flexible working arrangements, supporting line managers across HR operations, terms and conditions, and employee relations within the NHS.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR advice and support to line managers and staff across multiple directorates.
• Apply and interpret NHS terms and conditions, employment legislation and HR policies.
• Assist with employee relations matters, including investigations and conflict resolution.
• Promote employee well‑being, equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
• Contribute to HR service improvement and continuous development projects.

Required profile

• Experience working in HR within a public‑sector or healthcare environment, preferably the NHS.
• Strong decision‑making, prioritisation and communication skills.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality HR support and improving employee experience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NHS terms and conditions and employment legislation.
• Understanding of employee relations processes.
• Familiarity with HR policies, equality and diversity frameworks.
