ICT & Security Design Engineer

About the role
RED is seeking an ICT & Security Design Engineer to join one of its UK offices (London, Newcastle or Bicester). The role involves delivering comprehensive security and ICT infrastructure designs for low‑energy, zero‑carbon building projects.
Key responsibilities
- Produce design packages including reports, drawings, schematics, schedules, specifications and procurement packs.
- Carry out threat, vulnerability and risk assessments for client projects.
- Advise on and interpret client security requirements.
- Design CCTV systems, including field‑of‑view planning, camera analytics and software selection.
- Develop 2D CAD drawings and 3D Revit models in collaboration with the BIM team.
- Coordinate security and ICT designs with electrical and mechanical disciplines and perform clash detection.
- Prepare project reports for management and clients, and represent RED at technical meetings.
- Support project delivery according to RED’s Project Delivery Process, covering project management, financial management, QA/QC and technical review.
Required profile
- Engineering degree in a relevant security or ICT infrastructure discipline with at least 2 years of experience, OR A‑Level/HNC/HND/CNIDP with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
- Proven ability to produce detailed design documentation and conduct risk assessments.
- Strong understanding of security and ICT market developments.
