About the role

Our client, a well‑established medium‑sized business in Birmingham, is looking for a proactive Accounts Assistant to join the finance team immediately. The role is initially temporary, full‑time, with the possibility of extension or permanent placement for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

  • Process purchase and sales ledger invoices.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and cash allocation.
  • Manage credit control, chase outstanding payments and resolve related queries.
  • Provide ad‑hoc finance support to the Finance Manager.

Required profile

  • Previous experience in a varied Accounts Assistant position.
  • Proactive, adaptable and able to prioritise workloads.
  • Positive, hands‑on attitude.

Required skills

  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Cash allocation.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel.
