Industrial Architect – Nuclear (Fusion & SMR Projects)

About the role

Assystem is looking for an experienced Industrial Architect to lead the architectural design of nuclear infrastructure projects, including Small Modular Reactors (SMR), Advanced Modular Reactors (AMR) and fusion developments across the UK and internationally. You will work within a multidisciplinary Fusion and Modular Nuclear team, shaping site masterplans and ensuring compliance with nuclear and building regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural design from concept through construction for nuclear facilities.
• Develop and maintain nuclear site masterplans.
• Coordinate spatial design with engineering, environmental and safety teams.
• Resolve design conflicts and integrate multiple engineering disciplines.
• Advance BIM and digital‑twin capabilities for project delivery.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Architecture or Industrial Architecture.
• ARB registration; Chartered RIBA membership is desirable.
• Significant experience on large‑scale, regulated projects, preferably in nuclear or power generation.
• Strong background in planning, industrial building design and modular construction.

Required skills

• BIM (Level 2/3) and digital‑twin tools.
• Modular construction and prefabrication techniques.
• Digital project delivery platforms.
