Industrial Engineer – Laundry Equipment Maintenance

About the role

Elis is seeking a motivated Engineer to join its Kendal site, focusing on the maintenance and improvement of industrial laundry equipment. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer to ensure equipment reliability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out remedial engineering work on laundry machinery, ensuring timely repairs and updates to production.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects for plant, machinery, and maintenance processes.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, reporting incidents and ensuring safe work practices.
• Coordinate with contractors to guarantee safe site operations.
• Communicate daily handovers and progress updates between production staff and engineering teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
• Engineering Level 3 and 4 NVQ qualification; HND or C&G equivalent is a plus.
• Apprentice‑trained with a BTEC background.
• Proven ability to work independently, make decisions quickly, and stay self‑motivated.
