Information Governance Support Officer

About the role

The Scottish Ambulance Service is looking for a motivated Information Governance Support Officer to join its national team. You will be responsible for handling Freedom of Information, Subject Access and health‑record requests, ensuring accurate and timely responses while supporting broader information governance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Freedom of Information, Subject Access and health‑record requests.
• Prepare accurate, timely responses and communicate with patients, colleagues and partner organisations.
• Support wider information governance work, including incident handling, impact assessments and information‑sharing arrangements.
• Assist with records management, reporting and compliance activities.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in information governance, preferably within healthcare or a complex organisation.
• Ability to interpret complex legal information and write clearly.
• Strong organisational skills to manage competing statutory deadlines.
• Discretion when handling confidential or emotive information.
