Infrastructure Engineer (Linux & Windows) – Market-Maker

About the role

We are partnering with a leading market‑maker to hire a dual‑stack Infrastructure Engineer who will own and optimise both Linux and Windows production environments supporting high‑performance electronic trading. This hands‑on, engineering‑first role demands deep technical expertise and a focus on automation, reliability and low latency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain production Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server platforms.
• Manage and optimise VMware vSphere/ESXi virtualisation at an infrastructure level.
• Own Active Directory architecture, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI and integrate Linux identity services (LDAP, Kerberos, SSSD).
• Develop automation frameworks using PowerShell, Python, Bash and IaC tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Support low‑latency trading workloads through kernel tuning, CPU pinning, NUMA optimisation and network stack configuration.
• Define and execute patching, vulnerability remediation and lifecycle management across both estates.
• Harden systems to CIS benchmarks and internal security standards.
• Investigate and resolve high‑priority incidents in a time‑critical trading environment.
• Collaborate on infrastructure architecture decisions with network, security and platform teams.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of hands‑on infrastructure engineering experience in both Linux and Windows production environments.
• Proven experience in financial services, electronic trading or low‑latency environments.
• Strong incident diagnosis, root‑cause analysis and post‑mortem documentation skills.

Required skills

• Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) – kernel tuning and performance optimisation.
• Windows Server – Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI and security hardening.
• VMware vSphere/ESXi administration.
• PowerShell, Python and Bash scripting.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code: Ansible, Terraform (or equivalent).
• LDAP, Kerberos, SSSD integration.
• Low‑latency networking, CPU pinning, NUMA configuration.
• Patching, vulnerability remediation and CIS benchmark compliance.
