Innovation & Marketing Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Innovation & Marketing Director to join the senior leadership team of a market‑leading UK food manufacturer. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will shape the innovation pipeline, brand strategy and product development across private label and branded portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the overall innovation and marketing strategy to drive business growth.
• Lead the end‑to‑end new product development (NPD) process from concept through launch.
• Build a strong pipeline of retailer‑led and proactive innovation projects.
• Drive brand development, packaging innovation and marketing activities.
• Identify emerging consumer trends and translate insights into commercially successful products.
• Partner with commercial teams and retail customers to secure growth opportunities.
• Lead, mentor and develop the innovation and marketing teams, fostering creativity and accountability.
• Manage budgets and measure the success of product launches and campaigns.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in innovation, NPD, marketing or brand within food manufacturing.
• Strong background in confectionery, chocolate, bakery, premium food or related categories.
• Experience working with major retailers, preferably in private‑label environments.
• Demonstrated success delivering commercially viable product innovation.
• Excellent brand, packaging and consumer‑insight capabilities.
• Commercially astute with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
