Interim Accounts Receivable Specialist – 6‑month contract

About the role

This interim position offers an experienced Accounts Receivable professional the chance to join a charitable organisation’s finance team on a six‑month basis. You will take ownership of cash, income and sales ledger processes while working in a collaborative, hybrid environment based in Central London.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the sales ledger, ensuring invoices are raised accurately and income is recorded promptly.
• Take ownership of the cashbook, processing all receipts and payments accurately.
• Perform daily and monthly bank and cash reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Allocate incoming payments and maintain accurate customer account records.
• Monitor outstanding debtors, follow up overdue balances and support credit control.
• Support month‑end processes through preparation of reconciliations and reporting.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve income‑related queries.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts receivable processes and strengthen financial controls.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Receivable, Sales Ledger or Cashier role.
• Strong experience managing cashbooks, bank reconciliations and sales ledger activities.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to handle a high‑volume workload accurately.
• Strong communication skills and confidence to build relationships across finance and the wider organisation.
• Charity sector experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to hit the ground running within a busy finance team.
