Interim Finance Assistant – 3‑Month Temporary (Hybrid)

About the role

This 3‑month interim position supports a busy finance team in Bath during a period of growth. The role is hybrid, combining office attendance with remote work, and requires an experienced Finance Assistant who can hit the ground running.

Key responsibilities

• Process high volumes of supplier invoices and manage the purchase ledger from receipt to payment.
• Prepare and run weekly payment batches.
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve finance queries.
• Process employee expenses, company credit‑card transactions and daily/monthly bank reconciliations.
• Allocate cash, maintain accurate financial records and support sales‑ledger invoicing.
• Assist with month‑end activities, including accruals and pre‑payments.
• Maintain finance inboxes, respond to stakeholder queries and contribute to process‑improvement projects.
• Produce ad‑hoc reports using Excel.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk or in Accounts Payable.
• Strong background in accounts payable and reconciliations within a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Immediate availability or short‑notice start preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (including Pivot Tables and look‑ups).
• Experience with finance systems such as Sage, Xero, Dynamics or NetSuite.
