Interim Finance Manager (Final Accounts & Financial Management)

About the role

This interim position supports a leading healthcare organisation undergoing a finance restructure. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will ensure continuity across final accounts and financial management while delivering high‑quality financial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close activities and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Produce accurate management accounts, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Support statutory reporting, external audit and cash‑flow management, including VAT matters.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance processes and controls.
• Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to the finance team.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to deliver meaningful financial insight.
• Assist the Finance Director during organisational change.

Required profile

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
• Significant post‑qualification experience in financial accounting and control.
• Proven ability to prepare management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Experience managing or mentoring finance staff.
• Demonstrated success in interim assignments.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
• Solid knowledge of financial accounting standards and controls.
