Interim Financial Controller

About the role

An exciting interim opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a fast‑growing technology business. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own the finance function, delivering accurate reporting, robust controls and commercial insight while supporting strategic projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and board reporting packs.
• Oversee cash‑flow forecasting, working capital management and treasury activities.
• Manage and develop the finance team, providing leadership and technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and maintain a strong financial control environment.
• Partner with senior leadership to provide commercial analysis and decision support.
• Lead the annual audit process and manage external auditor relationships.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives and finance transformation projects.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning activities.
• Assist with acquisitions, integrations and other business‑critical finance projects.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller in a technology, SaaS, digital or high‑growth environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with IFRS reporting experience.
• Previous interim or contract experience with the ability to hit the ground running.
• Experience leading month‑end close and managing a high‑performing finance team.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Adaptable, proactive and comfortable operating in a changing environment.
