Interim Management Accountant – 9 months (London)

About the role

Our client, a leading Japanese investment firm in London, is seeking an interim Management Accountant for a nine‑month assignment covering maternity leave. The role is office‑based initially with the possibility of hybrid working after the probation period.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full management accounting cycle, preparing monthly management accounts and journal entries.
• Perform bank reconciliations and compile the consolidation package.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to support statutory accounts and tax return preparation.
• Oversee payments, invoicing procedures and ensure timely processing.
• Prepare the annual budget and regularly update forecasts.
• Analyse variances between budget, actuals and forecasts, monitoring performance against targets.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS.
• Ability to take full ownership of monthly reporting and analyse large data sets.
• Immediate availability or one‑week notice.
