Interim Management Accountant

About the role

Robert Walters is partnering with a manufacturing business to secure an experienced Management Accountant on a six‑month fixed‑term basis. The role provides cover for a period of sickness absence and offers the chance to take ownership of finance processes in a fast‑paced SME environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and deliver month‑end reporting within a two‑day turnaround.
• Post accruals, pre‑payments and manage inter‑company recharges and reconciliations.
• Process central and head‑office invoices and handle finance inbox queries.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and support VAT return preparation and submission.
• Assist with payments, general ledger activities and ad‑hoc finance reporting.
• Identify and implement process and control improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant in a manufacturing or SME setting.
• Strong month‑end reporting and accounting background.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with relevant experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proactive attitude towards improving systems, processes and controls.
