Inventory and Stock Controller

About the role

This hands‑on position is based in London and supports an established Food & Beverage business. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating purchasing activities and ensuring stock availability across the operation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records and record all stock transactions in the ERP system.
• Monitor stock levels, trigger replenishment and avoid shortages or over‑stocking.
• Raise, process and track purchase orders in line with approved requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers to place orders, track deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
• Verify goods received against purchase orders and supplier documentation.
• Process goods receipts, manage transfers, returns, adjustments and stock issues.
• Conduct regular stock and cycle counts, reconciling system stock with physical inventory.
• Investigate variances, implement corrective actions and support waste‑reduction initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with internal stock control procedures and best practices.

Required profile

• Previous experience in inventory control, purchasing or stock management within Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Retail or FMCG.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and purchasing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
