Issue Management Analyst (1LOD Risk Management)

About the role

FTSE Russell is seeking an Issue Management Analyst to support the first-line Issue Management framework across its global business. Working in the 1LOD Risk & Control function, the analyst helps ensure issues are accurately recorded, tracked, well evidenced and followed up in time. The role supports governance routines and gives management information on issue health, remediation progress, ageing and emerging risk themes. It is based in London and is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of the Issue Management framework, including issue creation, tracking, remediation monitoring and closure preparation.
• Maintain accurate issue records with ownership, ratings, dates, action plans and closure evidence, and help triage and quality review new and existing issues.
• Track remediation actions, follow up with Issue Owners and Action Owners, monitor issue ageing and due dates, and prepare issue closure packs.
• Perform regular data quality checks and support routine Issue Management management information on volumes, ageing, overdue actions and risk themes.
• Help maintain dashboards, trackers and reporting packs used for governance forums and senior management updates.
• Prepare governance meeting packs, capture decisions and escalations, and liaise with Issue Owners, Action Owners and Risk & Control colleagues.
• Support the application of Issue Management procedures and controls, contribute to audit-ready records, and promote strong risk culture.

Required profile

• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail, with a focus on data quality.
• Good organisational and planning skills, able to manage multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication and ability to work with stakeholders across teams and seniority levels.
• Comfortable with structured processes, governance routines and control requirements.
• Desirable: experience in issue management, operational risk, governance, controls, audit support or management information; familiarity with MetricStream, Jira or similar tools; experience supporting governance forums; experience in financial services, market infrastructure, index, benchmark, data or analytics businesses.
