Junior Finance Assistant – Full or Part‑Time

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Finance Assistant to join our team in Paignton. The role can be full‑time or part‑time and offers the chance to develop a broad range of finance and administrative skills while working alongside experienced colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the processing of purchase orders and supplier invoices, ensuring timely entry and verification
• Assisting with customer invoicing and payment allocation, helping to match payments to invoices
• Helping maintain purchase and sales ledger records, keeping data accurate and up‑to‑date
• Reconciling supplier statements and investigating queries, resolving discrepancies promptly
• Supporting credit control activities and chasing outstanding payments to improve cash flow
• Maintaining accurate financial and compliance documentation in line with company policies
• Assisting with month‑end administration and reporting, preparing necessary schedules and summaries
• Supporting wider office administration and improvement projects, contributing to efficiency initiatives

Required profile

• Some initial finance or accounts experience (e.g., Junior Accounts Assistant, Finance Administrator, Accounts Administrator, Purchase Ledger Assistant) or studying towards an AAT qualification
• Motivated, organised and eager to develop
• Good attention to detail and a positive approach
• Confidence to ask questions and take on greater responsibility as experience grows
