Junior Merchandiser, Home (Glass & Cutlery / Bath Linens)

About the role

John Lewis Partnership is recruiting two Junior Merchandisers for its Home Directorate, within the Tabletop and Bath & Utility teams. The roles are based at the London Pimlico head office and are hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in the office. One position is permanent (Glass & Cutlery) and the other is fixed term until June 2027 (Bath Linens and Accessories); the pay band is £34,000 to £51,500, with candidates up to £45K sought depending on experience. Night work between 22:00 and 06:00 attracts a premium of £4.75 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and forecast sales, stock, profit and SKUs for your category, with support from the Category Lead, L6 Merchandiser and Trade Planning team.
• Drive the commercial and customer success of a product range through range planning and agile in-season trading, using analysis and reporting from Product Operations.
• Manage the flow of stock through Merchandising Assistants, controlling inventory levels and open to buy.
• Maximise availability across channels while minimising inventory and supply chain costs.
• Forecast assortment sales, stock and margin KPIs and set open-to-buy parameters with the L6 Merchandiser.
• Work with Buying on season trading, volume and commercial terms with suppliers, and collaborate with the wider merchandising, supply chain, sourcing and trading operations teams.

Required profile

• Experience in forecasting and planning, WSSI management, and influencing and stakeholder management.
• Experience in BTA preparation, margin modelling and flow planning.
• Proven merchandising practice, including assortment planning and stock management.
• Desirable: experience in home merchandising.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets or similar analytical tools.
• Proficiency in reporting tools such as Business Intelligence and Tableau.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, communication and presentation skills.
• Understanding of retail operations and supply chain management.
