Laboratory Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our environmental testing laboratory in Didcot on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis. The role is ideal for recent chemistry graduates or motivated individuals with experience in fast‑paced production environments and who can start immediately.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and analyse samples using a range of analytical techniques.
• Ensure all work complies with UKAS ISO17025, GLP and other relevant standards.
• Occasionally drive to client sites to collect samples (a few times per quarter).
• Maintain accurate records and support quality‑assurance processes.

Required profile

• A degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline is highly beneficial but not essential.
• Experience in a fast‑paced production line environment (e.g., food production) is advantageous.
• Highly motivated with strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and communication skills.
• Immediate availability and residence within commuting distance of Didcot.
• Full clean manual driving licence is essential.
• ‘First Aid at Work’ certificate preferred but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Analytical techniques for sample analysis.
• Knowledge of UKAS ISO17025 standards.
• Understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
