About the role
The FCA is seeking a Lead Associate to head its Market Conduct and Post‑Trade Policy work on a nine‑month fixed‑term basis. You will join the Capital Markets team within the Infrastructure & Exchanges directorate, helping shape policy for primary markets, post‑trade activities and emerging digital securities.
Key responsibilities
- Line‑manage two senior associates, providing coaching, mentorship and fostering a learning culture.
- Shape and drive complex policy workstreams, setting clear direction and ensuring high‑quality, timely delivery.
- Lead the development of post‑trade policy, including the Digital Securities Sandbox, the repeal and replacement of UK EMIR, and support for the tokenised securities strategy.
- Apply critical and creative thinking to navigate significant changes in UK wholesale markets policymaking.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver policy outcomes that improve market fairness and efficiency.
Required profile
- Proven project‑management experience in a regulatory or policy environment.
- Strong understanding of wholesale capital‑markets, post‑trade processes and emerging digital assets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small team of senior professionals.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
