Lead Software Engineer - Public Cloud Engineering

About the role

As a Lead Software Engineer within JPMorgan Chase's Public Cloud Engineering – Infrastructure Platforms team, you will be a core technical contributor in an agile environment. You will design, build, and deliver secure, stable, and scalable technology products that support the firm’s business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting while thinking beyond routine approaches.
• Develop secure, high‑quality production code and review/debug code written by others.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise‑authorized AI‑assisted engineering practices, such as AI‑assisted code review, refactoring, test acceleration, and incident analysis, establishing consistent validation standards.
• Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI‑assisted development and automation, to increase automation value.
• Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability of applications and systems.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.
• Promote engineering excellence through knowledge‑sharing and foster an inclusive, collaborative culture.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with advanced applied experience (EMEA/LATAM‑Brazil).
• Hands‑on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Rust).
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise‑approved AI‑assisted software development tools.
