Lead Software Product Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with an established engineering business to launch a brand‑new cloud platform that will power the next generation of connected devices. As the Lead Software Product Engineer you will be the first senior software hire on this greenfield project, shaping architecture, building the MVP and guiding future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop a cloud‑native platform from scratch, including APIs, backend services and event‑driven components.
• Collaborate with hardware and engineering teams to integrate smart devices and real‑time telemetry.
• Define technical architecture, engineering standards and best practices for the product.
• Lead the creation of scalable solutions for analytics, telemetry and customer‑facing applications.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building the software engineering function.

Required profile

• Proven experience building software products from concept to production.
• Hands‑on expertise in modern backend development and cloud platforms.
• Ability to take ownership of technical decisions while remaining a contributor.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional hardware and product teams.

Required skills

• C# and .NET
• Java, Kotlin or Python
• Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform
• Design and implementation of APIs and event‑driven architectures
• Experience with IoT or real‑time data processing (desirable)
