Learning Support Assistant – Psychology/Criminology Graduate

About the role
This position is for recent Psychology or Criminology graduates who want to support primary‑school children with social, emotional and mental‑health needs. Working on‑site in Camberley, you will assist the class teacher and help create a safe, empowering environment for vulnerable pupils.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering learning experiences and adapting activities to individual needs.
- Provide behaviour and pastoral support, identifying risks and escalating concerns when necessary.
- Build robust, trusting relationships with students, offering one‑to‑one and small‑group support.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
- Participate in staff meetings and complete required CPD.
Required profile
- Recent graduate (within the last 12 months) in Psychology or Criminology.
- Passionate about restorative approaches and supporting vulnerable children.
- Willingness to commute to Camberley five days a week.
- No prior experience required; training will be provided.
Required skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Empathetic, caring and a good listener.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
