Lecturer in Analogue and Mixed‑Signal IC Design

About the role
The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Sheffield is seeking a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) specialising in analogue and mixed‑signal integrated‑circuit design. The successful candidate will join the Circuits and Systems group within the Semiconductor and Quantum Technologies Research Theme, contributing to teaching, research and industry‑linked projects.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate modules in analogue and mixed‑signal IC design.
- Develop and supervise research projects, including silicon tape‑out activities.
- Lead circuit‑level decisions within larger semiconductor systems, addressing signal‑chain partitioning, power, thermal and data‑conversion aspects.
- Collaborate with industry partners and secure research funding.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental service.
Required profile
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and validating analogue or mixed‑signal ICs, preferably with tape‑out experience.
- Strong systems‑level understanding of heterogeneous semiconductor integration.
- Track record of high‑quality publications and/or industry product development.
