Lecturer in Business (Part‑time, Permanent)

About the role

Wirral Metropolitan College is seeking a part‑time Lecturer in Business to deliver high‑quality teaching and support to students and apprentices. This permanent role involves 17.5 hours per week of scheduled teaching, tutorials and assessment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver formal scheduled teaching, tutorials, apprenticeship delivery and assessments.
• Prepare learning materials, assignments and support students and apprentices in self‑directed study.
• Act as a personal tutor for groups of students.
• Prepare students for external awarding body examinations.
• Mark student work, conduct internal moderation and verification.
• Contribute to monitoring, reviewing and evaluating programme quality as part of a team.

Required profile

• Level 2 or above in English/Maths (or equivalent).
• Business or related qualification at Level 4 or higher.
• Recognised full teaching qualification or willingness to complete a Level 5 teaching award within 12 months of appointment.
• Proven experience teaching students and preparing them for exams at Level 2 and above.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective, inclusive group teaching and learning strategies.
