Legal Cashier

About the role

Join a leading international professional services firm as a Legal Cashier within its established finance team in London. You will manage day‑to‑day client account transactions, ensuring strict compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and internal policies while supporting stakeholders across the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Process client account receipts and payments, including CHAPS, SWIFT and Faster Payments.
• Maintain compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and internal controls for all transactions.
• Manage client account banking, daily transaction processing and balance monitoring.
• Assist in resolving residual balances and support bank reconciliation activities.
• Produce and review weekly compliance reports and respond to queries via the cashier’s inbox.
• Liaise with fee earners, partners and finance colleagues to address account queries.

Required profile

• Recent experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm.
• Strong understanding of SRA Accounts Rules and client money handling.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
