Legal Cashier / Legal Finance Assistant

About the role

Napthens LLP, a regional law firm with a 100-year heritage in Lancashire, is looking for a Legal Cashier / Legal Finance Assistant to join its finance department in the Blackburn and Preston offices. The role ensures accurate and compliant financial operations while supporting fee earners and the wider finance team. It is full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours per week), with a hybrid working pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out bank reconciliations
• Process BACS payments, disbursements and transfers
• Support fee earners and the wider finance team

Required profile

• Experience as a legal cashier or a similar finance-related role, such as accounts payable
• Understanding of SRA Accounts Rules
• ILFM qualification (or willingness to work towards it) is available for long-term development

Required skills

• Excellent attention to detail and time management
• Confident communication with a proactive, service-focused approach
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with Proclaim or a similar case management system
